Specialists in eating disorder care
We offer evidence-based therapy for clients with eating disorders, disordered eating and eating difficulties.
As a team we have many years of experience working in NHS eating disorder services in in-patient and community settings.
Many of the team still spend part of our week working in or consulting to the NHS.
We know that a diagnosis of an eating disorder is an indication, in part, of where you are, but it is not an indication of who you are at your core. Eating disorders creep into our lives without us knowing, and silently but boldly highjack our sense of identity. We can come to believe that the eating disorder is who and all we are. At light of Mind we know something different from this and we consider it an honour to coach and guide you to rediscover your self.
We have listed the diagnostic categories that we work with below, but it might be the case that you do not identify with any of these labels . You certainly do not need to have a formal diagnosis to work with us. However you currently describe or think about your struggles in your relationship with your body and food, we would love to talk with you about how we might point you towards the ever present place within that is the space we call recovery.
We offer care for people across the spectrum of eating difficulties including:
- Anorexia Nervosa/ A-typical AN
- Bulimia Nervosa
- Binge eating disorder
- ARFID
- Disordered eating
- Orthorexia
- OSFED (Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder)
- Other restrictive eating disorders
Some members of the team share their lived experience and recovery stories of their eating disorders with their clients as part of their intervention. All light of mind clients will be offered access to these and other, hopeful and helpful recovery stories.
