Specialist CBT therapist & embodied yoga and movement teacher
Light of Mind practitioner Cath brings a unique dazzle of movement, warmth and energy to the team. Her approach to wellbeing aligns with the values of Light of Mind as she shifts her focus between the mind, body, heart and soul. She has a passion for music and movement and its power to help humans shift their energy state. She skillfully combines this with a cognitive behavioural approach to understanding the self. If you are experiencing any nerves or fears about embarking on a therapy programme, Cath will put you at ease with her kindness and compassion. Cath graduated from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, Kings College London as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT).
She is a:
- Registered with the British Association of Psychotherapists (BABCP)
- CBT therapist
- Yoga and movement teacher
Cath came to share her light as Light of Mind practitioner with the Light of Mind team in 2022. She shines far and wide, spending some of her week as a therapist in the prestigious South London and Maudsley Eating Disorder Service.
She and Mary met in the NHS when they were both working on a joint creative project for the NHS Eating Disorder FREED pathway. They instantly fell in love with each other’s creativity and passion for finding ways to work with people and think outside, next to, underneath and anywhere but inside ‘the ‘box’! Mary and she have spent many hours sharing poetry, quotes and ideas on how to help people find their sense of wellbeing within. Mary invited Cathy to join her at Light of Mind not least because Cathy oozes compassion, humanity, warmth, creativity and a deep intuitive understanding about how to help people find their healing. You only have to be in her presence for a few moments to feel at ease, hopeful and excited about what is possible for and within you.
Cath lives in London and can often be found offering healing workshops at various UK festivals!
- Social media lead FREED programme
She is also a yoga teacher having completed the following accredited courses:
- 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with the School of Sacred Arts at The Yoga Barn, Bali
- 40-hour training at Yogarise, London
- Yoga Therapy & Mindfulness for Addictions recovery course at The Minded Institute, London.

Now I have finished therapy.. I am trying to positively reframe things, ask myself what would Catherine say/do and look at this as a new beginning. I think I am ready to drive on the road. I will always carry you with me in my thoughts, not as a driving instructor, but rather as the most valuable companion I could have asked.
There is no chance I would be where I am without your wise words, concern, energy, and support (I could go on! - I will always be incredibly grateful. If everyone else (…) has been assigned a therapist like you then they are very lucky!!
(Working with you) I honestly changed the way I interact with my body and movement - I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful work you do.
Cath has such a special quality. She works from the heart, and holds a beautiful space for each individual to grow at their own pace. I always feel grounded and warm (both physically and emotionally!) at the end of each session. Thank you, thank you! X
Working with Cath has helped me in so many ways, especially in finding a new way (…) to actually bring me into my body and feel grounded and connected with myself (which has been incredibly important and transformative for me, as somebody who usually spends all of my time in my head!)
