Administration Manager

About Light of Mind

Laura Wilson is our Administration Manager at Light of Mind and we are extremely grateful to have her in this role! Laura comes with a wealth of qualifications, experience and expertise including:

  • BA Hons Business Management, University of Huddersfield
  • PGCE in Skills for Life – teaching literacy and numeracy to post-16 students

Her previous roles include:

  • Executive Assistant to the Regional Executive Director of Arts Council England, Yorkshire
  • Administration Manager for the lead school at Trinity Multi Academy Trust

She is absolutely integral to the smooth running of this busy and diverse service! Laura was recommended to Mary as ‘the one person you need to meet NOW’. They met in a coffee shop in early 2023 in Halifax. Mary showed Laura her current ‘systems’ on her computer and, in a kind but firm manner, Laura asked Mary if she could perhaps ’borrow’ Mary’s laptop to do a ’bit of tidying up’ and make one or two suggestions. 48 hours later Laura (aka our very own Mary Poppins) had worked her magic, pruned, and weeded and created fresh soil in the ‘behind the scenes’ world of Light of Mind. Mary will never forget how she made her cry with joy! (Mary often cries with joy at Laura’s work😉). Laura is efficient, warm, skilful and solution focused.

After a discovery call with Mary, Laura is the first person that liaises with our clients to ensure that they have everything they need before they start working with us. She usually gives the people we work with the information they need, before they even have to ask for it! She plays a vital role in making our clients feel safe, seen and special.

She loves to organise and to have a to do list! She has a questionable love of notebooks (in her mind, you can never have too many!) and loves to use them to not only keep her lists in order, but also to brain dump to give her mind space to think and breathe.

Laura loves the ethos behind Light of Mind and being part of a team who are so utterly committed to ensuring that our communities receive the support that is so needed.

Outside of work, Laura is married and a proud Mum to two children and hopeful of soon being a dog owner!
